Mark Johnson

June 14, 1951- January 24, 2004

Mark was a TV writer for many years, on such shows as Fridays, Faerie Tale Theatre, Sledgehammer and others. A native of Inglewood, Calif., Mark was the son of Richard and Mary Gerritsen Johnson. He leaves an older brother, Richard, sisters Becky and Beth, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mark also leaves two children, Brett and Tracy - Brett in the US Navy, having just served in Iraq and Tracy a student at Purdue University. He was tremendously proud of their character and achievements. Mark was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Glendale, and served as a missionary in Holland for two years. The last six months of his life - as he struggled with courage and humor against the ravages of cancer - were recorded on videotape by his good friend and documentarian, Tom Kramer. This project was a blessing, as, in his final weeks, Mark was able to fulfill some dreams, and reunite with old friends and family members. He was loved, and he will be missed.
