I had visited Jason at his work a few times shortly before his death, and offered friendship, assistance and support during the worst time of his life. He was a friend since 4th grade, always keeping to himself, but underestimated by most classmates of how gentle a person he was, and what friendship he was capable of giving to others. I regret now not having spent more time with him outside school.

About 5 years ago, I talked to his brother Jeff in public, which I was not able to do at his funeral. I was able to unload my feelings to him, and tell him that not a day or week goes by that I don't think about Jason, everything that happened to him- and that Jason knew no enemies, Jason was a prince among men. Jason, you'll always be kept in my thoughts.
