This year, we spent the Thanksgiving holidays at my sisters house in Placerville, CA.

Between then and now, we discovered that my mother is in the early to mid-stages of Alzheimers so my sister and I are having to teach my father how to take care of our mother and we are watching over both of them very carefully. They live in Clovis near me so I am doing what I can to help my father and my sister is doing quite a bit also even though she is 4 hours away.

For Christmas, we had the family over to our house and had a good old fashioned BBQ for dinner with tri-tip, chicken, chili beans, rice, bread and all the good desserts that come along with Christmas.

New Years' eve and New Years' day will probably be pretty quiet as the Wheelers are not the real party-goers but it will be nice to have a few days off to spend with my family.

My daughter, Kenna, will be heading off to college in Oklahoma this coming August so I'm dreading the day I have to leave her but know that she is going to have a FANTASTIC time.
