Nanny loved to play penny poker. She would shuffle the cards and say, "Nothing's wild except the dealer!" She taught me to play "Pass the Trash" and "Dr. Pepper". I wonder how she would have liked Texas Hold 'Em.Susan Bumann (Bumann-Riehl)
My favorite memory of Nanny has to be when she flipped her teeth out for the grandkids once. That was the coolest thing ever. The one and only time I've ever seen that! I also remember Nanny letting me play with her bingo cards and stamper in the dining room. She taught me how to play cards and when the dealer passes the deck to the left you're supposed to tap on it with your middle finger if you don't want to cut the deck. I also remember she used to drink a glass of water, no ice, after each meal. I remember for a good while trying to get through a whole meal without choking so I could drink my glass of water, just to be like her. She died when I was 15, but I really would like to have known her as an adult woman. I miss her still.
