Vicki Short (Bumann)

Prayers are the easy part; we Short's have a hotline to God lately. He picks up on the first ring.....never lets it go to voice mail.

Remember Debi, too. Not just for the appendix surgery, but she is losing her bestest friend, Gayle Butler, and Gayle didn't even have the foresight to move somewhere close by.

New Hampshire, yet. Where in the world is that? The Canadian Border? Colder, windier, and longer winters than KY.

Seriously, it is hard to lose a best friend whether across town or halfway across the US map.

Debi, I love you and will be your new bestest friend AND your sister.

Debra Lou Short (Dissell)

You already are my other best friend!!! Glad your home! Yes it is hard, but I will be okay! If I could only feel better. Today is not so good...sunshine and all! Love you all!

Cara Patterson (Short)

I just looked at you're Dad's profile. Very sentimental! Sounds like he was a lot like my Dad. He liked to give us all nicknames too - and instead of rhymes he made up songs that he sang to us. One of my favorites was "Pappy used to tan my hide"! It was hilarious. I think I've got the words written down somewhere.

Lisa - it was Tanya Tucker (Delta Dawn).

You're right David. It takes a GREAT man to stay around for 8 kids! Mine did too!

I miss my Dad too! He passed away on June 20, 2005

David Short

quote of the day

If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down

Sherri Short (Chappell)

Way to go David on the quote of the day.

03/02/09 08:13 PM #2959

Sarah Short

hey whats up???

03/02/09 08:22 PM #2960

Vicki Short (Bumann)

Good job on the Joke of the Day, Sarah. Funny! For your birthday, everyone should send you a joke book. I think I will try to find a "Jokes You Read on the Toilet" book for you. OK? Your dad would probably want to read it too.

Vicki Short (Bumann)

Debi:

Just tell me what I can do to help. Madcap Moppers at your service. Isn't that a catchy name? Does anyone "mop" anymore?

I can't do supper for you until Friday, but Jim can do it before if you need him to.

Happy Spring Break to Matt.

Did you hang upside down on the inverter? Did that help at all?

I am sorry you still feel bad. I wish you would feel better so you can go outside and see how really, really, really cold it is. I did walk down to Rachelle's house twice since I've been home. Like to have froze. LOL

Vicki Short (Bumann)

Sherri,

How do I always miss you by minutes?

That hair clip I bought at the Flea Mart was $15 on the website, so no deal there. If and when you get back to the Keys, I want you to stop there and pick me up several. I kept the one I bought for that other person. Don't tell who.

03/02/09 08:29 PM #2963

Vicki Short (Bumann)

David,
Not a quote, that's your department, but a thought.

A good thing to have up your sleeve is humor. You will need it. More often now, than we ever have, huh?

That was the thought on my perpetual calendar today, or yesterday,,,,,,,I can't remember.

Donn Dissell

Hey Sissy,
No, noone uses a mop anymore!! How about being a "Swiffer Sweetie"? It fits you...

Kristie,
Are you having disc surgery on your neck?

David,
That last quote was a good one, and totally TRUE!!

Also, we can keep Sarah one night if you need!! Just let us know!!

03/02/09 08:37 PM #2966

Vicki Short (Bumann)

Donn"

Swiffer Sissy is a little better.

What about Cleaning Clara?

Got to go. I am behind in my Bible Study readings. Must catch up before Thursday.

I finished the J Patterson book. Loved it. Can't get into that other author. I have a few books on tape. I may listen to one of them while I clean out some cabinets and drawers.

Bye, y'all.

03/02/09 10:10 PM #2969

Vicki Short (Bumann)

David and Lisa know about this Canasta thing.

For now, Donn, stick to Phase 10 and dice (Shang hai, for those of you who played long ago.). We will teach you Canasta when we have the next power outage and lots of time. It is a high-handed version of Rummy.

David,
Where are you? Where is the rest of the world, too. I finally have computer time and no one is hardly ever on when I am here,,,,,,,and I have tried several different time frames today.

I guess you will have to call a "Forum" meeting.

03/02/09 10:14 PM #2970

Vicki Short (Bumann)

03/03/09 01:28 PM #2974

Vicki Short (Bumann)

Lisa,

Want to do Scrabble while Sherri is here? She and Debi like it, too.

Maybe we can have a "game night". I would love Canasta or Pinoucle or Hearts or Spades or Dice or anything.

Jim hasn't played Canasta in years, but he is a quick study.

I am glad you are at Mickey's today. He was so sad when I talked to him right B4 U got there. I will try to get there on Friday. I think I am picking Sherri up at 3:00 so I can go over there at 12:00 or so.
