Vicki Short (Bumann)
The big, old sister, here. I have been catching up on all the forum and it took a while.
Saw Debi and Donn's anniversary video. Somebody, Kristie, sure is a super star. Loved it. Who was that skinny woman in black? Kristie, you get the "BESTEST AWARD OF THE DAY" for the day (days) you created it.
Lost 13 pounds and have kept it off for a week. Jim has lost 3 pounds since last Friday. He is eating what I eat. It is a big help for him to give up the good stuff. I miss fruit, but a yogurt and strawberries has been my "treat" each week.
I wanted to lose more, but I am thankful for each pound. I have a long way to go.
Played golf 3 times. Many water holes and have lost dozens of balls. Never said I was good, but I have not played in 5 years. Love getting back into it and Jim is so patient. Lots of wildlife on the course....that's besides Jim and me.
David, keep on with the quotes. They DO hit home for ME and for many of us. Thank you for being there for Lisa and her kids. You are the best, the youngest, but the best! You win the "BESTEST AWARD FOR THE DAY" but remember, it has to be re-earned daily. It is only yours for the day.
Debi, you have earned the "BESTEST AWARD OF THE DAY" for the day you spent at the hospital with Lisa and for taking Mom up there and also for visiting Mickey. You spent a week of ministering to the sick. God loves you for it and so do I. David and Gayle would be proud of you, too.
Yes, Darlene, had a stroke, and like Lisa, is on Cumadin, you spell it, and waiting for the clots to dissapate. It takes time. The speech therapist says she will get all her speech back. I will tease her later about getting her brain power back! Thank you for your prayers for her and for Kenny.
YOU ARE CORRECT, DEBI. LAST YEAR, I WOULD NOT HAVE MADE IT THROUGH ALL THIS. IT WOULD HAVE TRULY PUT ME OVER THE EDGE. WASN'T I ALREADY ABOUT THERE ANYWAY?
..........and LISA, my lovely, baby little sister. I think of you second by second. I miss you and pray for you. One night, at dinner, after I thanked God for our food and our blessings and asked Him to take care of our families, Jim added that He, God, should especially watch over you. It was a touching moment. I love you so much and I know you have good doctors who are doing their best for you. Soon you will be home and this will be behind you. In the meantime, behave yourself and DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, show your SHORT side in the hospital. It may scare them to death.
Sherri, we will see you on Monday. Take care until then. I know you miss us terribly. HA HA HA HA
Cara, glad you are on. Now get my brother on.
LOVE TO ALL MY FAMILY. DO NOT KNOW WHEN I WILL BE BACK ON THE SITE.......but..............
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO ALL.... and TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
