Art was born in Louisville, and except for a very brief time in Alabama, lived entire life in Louisville. His father still lives in the house where he grew up.
After graduating from Bellarmine College in 1965, majoring in math, Art worked as an IT Manager for Enro Shirt Company/The Apparel Group for 28 years, retiring in 1999. He took up a second carrer as a landlord after purchasing several apartment buildings. His hobbies; enjoyed most sports, but especially playing & watching baseball. Duplicate bridge with his wife as partner was another favorite.
