Lawrence “Larry” Rapp Sr., Ph.D., passed away on November 3, 2008, at the Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville at age 64. Larry held a B.A. from Bellarmine University and both an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Louisville. Larry taught at several universities. He became one of the first ten criminal investigators for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Public Defender’s Office, now known as the Department of Public Advocacy. Larry retired from the Department of Public Advocacy in 2002. He was also the Committee Chair for Boy Scout Troop 358. Larry was a lifelong supporter of Democratic candidates as well as liberal and humanitarian causes. He is survived by his wife, Fran “Frankie” Lochner Rapp; a daughter, Kim Rapp Herps (Bill); his sons, Paul and Brian (Becca) Rapp; grandchildren, Jennifer and Heather Herps, Becca and Paige Rapp and Cody and Trevor Silvers.
