Sharon Wanerus Jones, 39, of Rancho Mirage, Calif., formerly of Loveland, died of cancer Aug. 25, 2002, at Palm Springs Hospital in Palm Springs, Calif.
She was born Nov. 19, 1962, in Chicago Heights, Ill., to Philip and Florence Collins Wanerus. She moved to Loveland in 1977 from Park Forest, Ill., and graduated from Thompson Valley High School in 1980. She graduated from the University of Colorado in 1984, and Regis College in 1986. She married Jeffery Jones on Feb. 29, 1992, in La Quinta, Calif.
She worked as a supervisor in medical records at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver and St. John's Health Center in Los Angeles. She also worked as a consultant and service representative at 3M Health Information Services.
She was a member of Southwest Community Church in Indian Wells, Calif. She also was a member of the American Health Information Management Association and California Health Information Association.
In recent years, her most cherished role was being a full-time loving mother and wife.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Jeffery Jones of Rancho Mirage; two sons, Casey and Noah, both of Rancho Mirage; her parents, Philip and Florence Wanerus of Loveland; three sisters, Priscilla Hughes and husband Eric of Oakland, Calif., Jill Longwell and husband Keith of Fort Collins, and Wendi Higgins and husband Ken of Greer, S.C.; six nephews and three nieces.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Southwest Community Church in Indian Wells.
Burial will be in Wellwood Murray Cemetery in Palm Springs.
