
Major James Trinity Sills
Died Nov. 4, 2009
Our beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend, Major James Trinity Sills, was promoted to glory on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009.
LakeRidge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering of friends and family this afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. Family and friends will celebrate his 37 years of life at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church, where he will be available for viewing from 1 until 1:45 p.m. A committal service will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
James was born on March 14, 1972 to Connie and Lula Hudson Sills in Lubbock. He married Stephanie Farmer on Dec. 28, 1995 in Lubbock.
He was a lifelong soldier of The Salvation Army and while serving he was Corps Officer in Smithfield, N.C., Beaufort, S.C. and Orange, Texas. James also served as an area coordinator of Waynesville, N.C. and an Associate Corps Officer in Lubbock. He was instrumental in increasing the membership and participation of the young adult fellowship at The Salvation Army.
James was active in civic organizations such as, the Rotary and National Republican Party.
James is survived by his loving spouse, Stephanie; son, Jonathan Kyle Sills; daughter, Catherine Delaney Sills; sister, Constance Diane Hudson of Lubbock; nephews, Carey Sills and wife Andrea, Jeremy Hudson and wife Lacey, Jacob Hudson, James Hudson; all of Lubbock, and Jerome Sills of Houston; niece, Amanda Vaden and husband Josh of Lubbock; great-nephews, Bodie Hudson and Trace Hudson, both of Lubbock; and great-nieces, Maddison Vaden and Alexis Hudson, both of Lubbock.
He was a preceded in death by his brother, Bodie Sills.
