Class of 70-02, I was in 70-05 at Reese. I flew with Don Carlson (70-02) in the AC-119G "Shadow" Gunship in RVN 70-71. Don flew it for 18 months on the G and K model. He then flew B-52's out of Beale AFB. He flew for Air California and American Airlines retiring in 2005. Don passed away in May 2022 of cancer. He was a long time friend and a great guy. Thanks, Marty Noonan

Rest In Peace my friend

Don was a great friend of both Sue and me. We flew together, played together and partied together. He and his bachelor buddies, Mike, Tony, Bob, Ken and others spent many a night after the stag bar at our house having home made pizza and sharing war stories. Later in Viet Nam, when Don & Marty were there flying the AC119, I was there flying C-130's. We were all at Tan Son Nhat and got togehter as often as we could although they always flew at night and I flew at different times. Unfortunately and sadly, just like most of us in 70-02, we lost contact and did not communicate. Don will always be remembered by Sue and me as a great friend and agreat person.
