Fundraising

Was wondering....are we sure we couldn't at least run an ad in the paper and sell plates of food one Friday & Saturday in September at Wayne Lee's parking lot to raise a little extra money?

If Phillip Cochran would give us the same price per plate ( meat with 2 sides)....no deposit....then maybe we could make &300 or $400 dollars over a weekend.  We would just need a few people to help him out I guess....not really sure how that would work but I'm thinking that just a little extra cash might give us some breathing room with the planning.

Also if we all got together and called the business in town for that Friday and offered to deliver to them.....then I bet we'd make some money!!!

What do ya'll think about that?  anybody willing & able to help out one weekend if we can get the okay from him & all involved?

I agree that additional funds would be nice. During the planning meeting it was decided that fundraising was not feasible givien the time until the reunion and also availability of those in Lucedale to pull it together.

I like the idea about soliciting to business. I also think that we could get someone to donate a few nice items and raffle them off. If the raffle is attractive we should be able to sell tickets. Even if iwe buy something we should be able to collect enough in sales to pay for the item and have money left over to offset some of our cost.

We'll have to think outside the box. We can raffle services just as well as merchandise. I'm sure someone would donate a desirable service in exchange for marketing and exposure to potentional clients.
