Claude Smithhart VIEW PROFILE

Claude Smithhart

1932 - 2016

Printer's ink got into Claude's "blood" early in life, from Matlock Printing Company to Lufkin Printing Company. Many printing jobs were done "without charge" for schools, clubs, weddings, and the 49ers.

Claude was a pilot and loved flying along with hunting and fishing. One of his favorite endeavors was to get together with his 49er classmates. At times he was the No. 1 cook but always the host no matter where he was. All who attended these o-so-wonderful "get togethers" left knowing they lived in simpler times caring much for one another.

He was surrounded by nature in his wooded home place - a manicured vegetable garden, unique chicken coup with laying hens, a lake dotted with beautiful swans, bee hives producing honey, hunting dogs - all this paradise the product of a lifetime of work. Seeing this, ALL thought this outdoorsman deserved it after a lifetime of hard work and giving back to others.

Rest in peace good friend, we who knew you will miss one of the truly good guys.
