Gone but not forgotten!

Paul E. Mahlik, 73, Luxemburg, died unexpectedly, early Monday morning, December 29, 2025, at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Green Bay, on May 30, 1952, to the late Paul F. and Helen C. (Johnson) Mahlik. On October 28, 1972, Paul married his high school sweetheart, Donna L. Jonet, at St. Kilian Church, New Franken.
Paul was a Luxemburg-Casco graduate of 1970. He served in the United States Army Reserves National Guard from 1970 to 1976. He was employed with Georgia Pacific East, as an electrician until his retirement in 2010. Paul was president of the Spartan Snow Riders Snowmobile Club, president and board member of the Luxemburg Sportsman Club for 30 plus years. His enjoyments included going to the cabin with family and friends, fishing (especially with granddaughters), hunting - he was an integral part of the Luxemburg Sportsman Club, canoeing BWCA, a devoted reader of sacred scripture, an ambassador for the Chosen series, and enjoyed making every moment of life a party.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Donna; their two children Peggy (Adam) Baumgart, New Franken, Paul D. "Bucky" (Andrea) Mahlik, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Megan Mahlik, Rachel Baumgart, Frances Mahlik, Lenore Mahlik; brothers and sisters, Arnie Mahlik, Diane (Dave Wouters) Koeppler, Sue (Wayne) Periso, Mike (Terry) Mahlik; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carol Jacobs, Lois (Helen Everts) Jonet, Jean (Francisco) Rondon, Ken (Sheila) Jonet, Steve (Patti) Jonet, Kathy Jonet, Bonnie (Paul Baker) Jonet, Bruce (Kristi) Jonet, Lee (Fiona Jenkins) Jonet; many nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by Donna's parents, Norman and Hildegarde Jonet; two brothers, Lee (Madona) Mahlik, Donne Mahlik; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack Koeppler, Arlene Mahlik, Dick Jacobs, and Diane Burbey.
Friends may call at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg, 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm on Friday, January 2, 2026. A closing parish prayer service will follow at 6:30 pm on Friday with Rev. Timothy Shillcox O. Praem officiating. Visitation will continue between 9:00 am - 10:45 am on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral service at 11:00 am at the church with the Very Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay. McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg, is assisting the family. A celebration of Paul's life will be held at the Luxemburg Sportsman Club on his birthday, May 30, 2026, rather than gather for a meal following his entombment.
