I knew Janice Beyerly from the beginning. We were in nursery school together and best friends throughout gradeschool. She became Jan sometime in Jr. High and was for the rest of her short life. Jan was always intelligent, quiet, and friendly. She graduated from Heidelburg College and went to Boston to live with friends when tragedy struck. Jan fell thru some thin ice while ice skating and drowned. This was on Dec. 4, 1976. I will never forget her. May she be at peace.
Janice was a thoughtful, moral, intellectual young woman who was also full of good humor and fun. She was incredibly beautiful. I can still remember how she looked in her prom dress- just beautiful. I was happy and honored to have her as a friend.
I remember Jan Beyerle - I was entranced by her ethereal mien - how can I put this? She had a certain grace - on another plane - when I heard how she had died, skating alone on a pond, I thought, how beautiful her last moments must have been. She was soulful. Rest in peace.

Such a sweet girl. I remember her as being shy, but more than that, very thoughtful and kind.
