In Memory

Marcie Collins

This sad news from Patty Young:

"Last week, Marcie’s sister, Alison, told me that Marcie passed away in February. No additional information to share.

Marcie was one of my “best friends". Throughout school we kept daily contact and went to many dances and Lake Erie beaches with each other. We used take the bus to Severence Mall and take the Higbee’s (or Hallie’s) elevator up, and then stop it on the way down by hitting the emergency button. Then we would dance (hang out) in the stopped elevator. We could hear the rescue people working on it and assuring us they would get us out. When the doors opened we acted like we were scared and ran off as fast as we could. We played this game way more than once, I’m proud to say! Fun times!

After Brush we stayed friends but had much less contact after she moved to Florida. She had/has a lot of friends that will miss her terribly. RIP “bestie!

So very sorry and sad to hear about Marcie.  I always thought the three Collins' girls were the cutest girls.  I remember Mrs. Collins and her love for poodles.  I too, lived on Westbourne Rd., across from Southlyn Elementary.   R.I.P. sweet Marcie Collins.
