
Suzanne Elaine Wisniewski, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, at Ronald Reagan Hospital in Los Angeles.
Born June 16, 1950, Suzanne grew up in Massachusetts and attended Tufts University in Medford, MA where she obtained a MA In Early Childhood Education. She taught In the' Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District from 1979-1986; The First School In Santa Monica from 1987 to 1996 and at Catalina Kid Ventures in Avalon from 1997 until retiring in 2014.
Suzanne was very passionate about teaching. She attended, organized and participated in many workshops and conferences with the National Association of Education for the Young Child and was one of the leaders that pioneered the way we now teach Early Childhood Education.
The Reggio Emilia Approach was the focus of her program development which is the belief that children use many different ways to show their understanding, express their thoughts and creativity and has an emphasis on hands on discovery learning.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Piotr Wisniewski; mother, Elaine Resnick, age 89 of Lynnfield, MA; brothers, Gerald Resnick of Lincoln, RI and Herbert Resnick of Euclid, OH. Suzanne was preceded in death by her father, Theodore H. Resnick.
Graveside services were held at the Avalon Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, June 10th at 1:00pm. Family and friends shared wonderful memories. http://cat.stparchive.com/Archive/CAT/CAT06192015P11.php

I feel I have been so remiss about posting a message about Suzanne here. I was so sorry to hear about her. She was a good friend-funny,delightful,charming and smart. As often happens,at some point in college we lost touch, but I will remember her.
