Eugene Harold Thompson

of Little Rock, AR, 1941 - 2021

On December 24, 2021, Eugene Harold Thompson departed this world to celebrate his favorite holiday and the birth of Christ with his beloved departed wife, Sharon.
Harold was born in Little Rock, Ark., on March 23, 1941, sharing that date with his identical twin, A. Carroll Thompson. The twins joined a crew of what would ultimately be Juanita Houpt's eight boys. Harold graduated from Mabelvale High School and went on to work and retire from AT&T. He honorably served and ultimately retired also from the United States Army Reserves, 95th Division, along with his twin brother. While in the Army Reserves, Harold graduated from Officer's Candidate School (OCS) and achieved the rank of Major.
To say he was an adoring father to his only daughter, Ragenea K. Thompson, is an understatement. Harold was also a doting grandfather to Walker Harold Rand. They spent hours together playing basketball, target practice, taking trips and spending memorable hours together.
Harold enjoyed and participated in sports whenever possible. Whether it was football and track in high school, or baseball, softball or bowling teams at work, to walking and running with your brothers, he was there.
Harold is predeceased by his mother and brothers, Wayne, Larry, Richard and Charles Thompson. He is survived by his daughter and grandson, his twin, Carroll, and younger brothers, Ben and Jim Thompson, and many nieces and nephews.
An informal Service of Remembrance will be held at Harold and Sharon's church, Lakewood United Methodist, at 1 p.m., on Thursday, December 30th, in the Sanctuary.

So sorry to hear of the passing of such a good person. Dear Harold,  I pray you found your heavenly home, my friend and all your friends and family that have gone on before you, were joyously there to welcome you home. You will be missed by many here in this world, but hopefully, we will meet again one day.

Harold and Sharon were keys to the success of the past 30 years of our class reunions.  They attended every planning session and took the lead on our evening dinners.  Sharon was a detail person and Bit was right beside her making sure every detail was completed.  They were a mighty pair in their home, church, community, and our Mabelvale class of 1961.

What a gift to our class and the world!  They created cherished memories and will be greatly missed.  I'm so, so very grateful to have known and loved them both.
