Wayne Smith

Wayne "Snuffy" Smith, 76, was born January 9, 1943 and forever reborn the morning of May 30, 2019. He retired from Entergy. Wayne didn't like not working. He loved "retiring" to Ace Hardware so much.

Wayne was a family man. He loved his kids, Kevin (Leslie) Smith, of Hensley, Ark., Kim (Ron) Mullins, of Austin, Ark., and Robert (Sherri) Smith of Hensley, Ark. He has numerous grandkids and great grandkids that filled his heart. He was a favored uncle to so many nieces and nephews. He cherished his baby sister, Brenda (Robert) Jackson of Gulfport, Miss. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Wilma Smith, and his brothers, AC and Larry.

He loved fishing, mowing his grass and breakfast at the East End Cafe. He loved God and his church family at Bingham Road Baptist Church. 

Wayne loved everything, but he lived for God and his wife of 43 years, Illine of Hensley. Together they roamed America while surveying pipes for Southern Cross for 15 years after "retiring" and made so many lifelong friends. 

He has left a legacy of love and laughter that will live on through all that have known him.

Visitation will be at Bingham Road Baptist Church at 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019. The memorial service will be at Bingham Road Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11 a.m.
