Joe Wasson

Joseph Berry Wasson Jr., 78 of Mabelvale, Arkansas passed away November 29, 2020 due to complications from Parkinson's.  He was born in Monticello, Arkansas on June 6, 1942.  He was preceded in death by his mother Reba Margaret (Wasson) Smith (Smitty) and father Joseph Berry Wasson Sr.  He is survived by his loving wife Gale Wasson of 57 years, his two daughters Joyce Thompson (Doug) and Sharon Taylor, his seven siblings Roy Wasson (Linda), Charles Wasson (Fran) and Wandra Lawson Wood (Jack), Conrad Smith (Virginia Wayne Smith (illine), Larry Smith and Brenda Jackson (Robert).  He was blessed with four granchildren Allyce Ford (TJ), Matthew Thompson (Kendra), Ashley Ashcraft (Justin) and drew Thompson.  He was also blessed with six great granchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe, also known as "Pepaw", loved life, fishing, hunting, gradening and his family and friends.  He was known for his big heart, laughter, ability to fix just about anything and his never ending "try" to cheat at cards.  He was also known for telling a "tall" tale or two.

Memorial Services will be on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. held at First Assembly of God Little Rock, 11301 Geyer Springs Road, Little Rock, AR  72209.  After the service there will be a reception to visit with family and friends while enjoying light refreshments.
