Dr. Charles (Chuckie) Dunn - Class of 1973 -- He got his degree in Podiatry and then sadly, died in his late twenties -- of AIDS during the height of and the beginning of this epidemic. I knew Chuck since Kindergarten and he lived on Roseland Drive, the next street over from where I lived, in Macedonia.
My family and his family were friends and I remember Chuck's mom taking us to the Ohio State Fair. Chuck also went to Nordonia schools K-high school and graduated with us. He's buried in one of the Mausoleums at All Saints Cemetary, around the corner from his parents (and my parents). He was lots of fun and very funny. I often think of him and how all that he missed getting to do here on earth.
He had a younger sister Debbie Dunn (class of 1974) and the older brother, also a Nordonia graduate, as well as a baby brother. Wonderful loving, Italian father. His Dad was an executive at Ford Motor Company
Chuck sat behind me in homeroom all through high school. He was a funny, and very pleasant young man. Always polite and friendly to me he probably seemed more quiet to most others. I remember seeing him at our 5 yr. renunion and he had slimmed down quite a bit and looked tremendous. We talked and he was still in school and seemed happy. I recall his warm embrace....sad that he is gone. Rest in peace friend.
Chuck and I became friends our freshman year, but I don't remember what classes we were in together. I do remember sitting with him and Doug Skelly in study hall our senior year. It was really difficult getting any studying done with those two around....they were both so hilariously funny! I went to senior prom with Chuck, and we doubled with Doug and Elaine Beegan....and had sooooo much fun! Very sad when he died....he was a great guy!
I remember Chuck as being so funny. We lived on the same street for a while, and he was always so kind to me. I my minds eye, I can just see him laughing and having fun. I was so sorry to hear he was gone.
