J. Brant Conner Obituary
J. Brant Conner, 80, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Brant was born in Macon, Georgia on January 27, 1945. He attended Lanier High School and later graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he received his bachelors and masters degrees. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and Delta Kappa Phi Textile Honorary Society.
He served his country in South Vietnam as an officer in the United States Army.
Brant worked for 40 years in the textile industry, retiring from Steel Heddle as General Sales Manager after 30 years. He later formed Conner Consulting Company where he was president until his retirement.
Brant enjoyed working in his garden and being in the outdoors in general. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In later years, he loved playing golf with his friends at Holly Tree Country Club. His other love was watching his beloved Yellow Jackets on TV.
Brant was preceded in death by his parents, Brantley Conner and Janet Dixon Conner; his son, Jeffrey Scott Conner; and his beloved wife of 54 years, Cheryl Richards Conner.
Brant is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. There will be a graveside service on Monday, November 24th at 10:00 a.m. in Graceland East Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thornwell Home for Children, Shriner's Children's Hospital, or Greenville Humane Society.
