Bill and I actually became GREAT friends after graduation. I was his first "real" date. I'll never forget him pulling up in my driveway with a button-down polo shirt and his hair slicked back and combed! He was sooo nervous. I've forgotten the name of that dinner/theater in Fresno (Roger Rocka's??)and saw Fiddler on the Roof--his first live theater experience. After his car accident (his buddy, Noelle Piper '80 was killed in the accident)I visted him in the hospital. He had severe brain injuries and I don't know if he knew it was me or not, but I like to believe that the huge grin that spread across his face when I walked into the room --even with a jaw wired shut--indicated that he knew exactly who I was. He passed away about a week later; I was truly heartbroken to lose such a tender, funny pal.

I had Kidwell in an art class during our
senior year at high school.
During that time, he was a bit of a cheese-ball.
But about five years after school, he became a good friend, and in a sense, he was like a brother to me, especially when I was having "girl troubles", and he would offer me some of his wisdom as I visited him, while he was working at Kragen's Auto Supply, and I was looking for some stuff for my bike.
When I found his obituary in the
local paper in 1984, I was devistated.
Too many good people I've known and loved
have died over the years.....
(including my soul-mate Leslie DiMaria<1958-2003>)

Rest In Peace, Kidwell, good buddy.
We'll catch up with some old times
when I leave this world.
