Marta T. Myska, of Lodi, CA, passed on to a better place on February 7, 2012, just one week short of her 68th birthday, after a long and brave battle with MDS and cancer.
Marta was born in Los Angeles and graduated from Madera High School in 1959. She received her BA in Art History and English from the University of California at Davis in 1965 and continued at UC Davis to earn her teaching certificate the next year. She taught art, English and English as a second language at Lodi High School until her retirement in 2005.
In addition to her love of teaching, Marta enjoyed pottery, painting and writing and actively pursued her "small art" painting and writing until shortly before her death.
Marta is survived by her daughter Margaret J. Marshall, Margaret's husband Donovan and their three daughters, Zamara, Katerina and Marta Marshall, all of Auckland, New Zealand. She also is survived by her stepson William Myska, his wife Cheryl and their children, Elizabeth and Samantha Roberts of Terre Haute, Indiana, her stepson Ronald Myska and his wife Michelle and their children, Chase, Shelby, Lauren, and Ian, of Fairfield, CA, and by her sister Lois G. Andrews, her husband Glenn and her sons Kenneth and Benjamin,of Waterford,CT.
Services of remembrance held at the Grace Presbyterian Church, 10 N. Mills Ave.,Lodi,CA,on the14th February 2012.
