CORDELL HEMPHILL

Our father passed away on February 13, 2011, after a 10 year battle with cancer.  He was 67 years old.  Dad was born in Madera Ca. and graduated from Madera high School.  He joined the Fresno Police Dept in 1962 after graduating from the first Peace Officer Cadet Class of Fresno City College.  He retired as Sergeant Detective in 1996.

Dad loved skiing, Elvis Presley, and old cars.  He had his son Brandt spent many years rebuilding a 1955 Chevy Wagon. After retirement he devoted much of his time restoring a 1937 Plymouth Coupe.

He was a dapper dresser, a great dancer, and even taught himself how to sew.  In fact, he sewed his daughter’s Leslie’s wedding gown.

He cherished the friendships in his life as they sustained him through his illness.

There are no words to express how much we love you Dad.  You will live in our hearts forever.  Your children, Leslie Pugsley and Brandt Hemphill.
