Benny was born May 4, 1943;  died Feb. 8, 1977 in Republic of Korea on active duty as a U. S. Army Staff Sergeant.

The "U. S. Army Personnel Causualties " data base reported Jack Benny Attaway died of non- hostile causes (heart attack).
