George was one of the most genuine people you would ever want to meet. I remember him moving to MCHS from Deputy and his days playing for the Cubs. If I remember correctly he'd always wanted to play for U of K. There's a true guardian angel in heaven.
Some times it is years later before we really do miss someone who has passed. I had the opportunity to work with George's father for many years at Indiana-Kentucky-Electric Company. We talked many times about George, he came from a very close farm family. And yes George was enrolled at the University of Kentucky aiming for an agricultural degree. His father was a great guy and now is deceased as well. George's mother is a terrific woman herself. Yes now is our time the class of 1970 to remember those of our class mates that are gone. Words could never express this loss.... besides, it would bring tears to my eyes... so I just close the door.Gary Lauderbaugh
