Tony L Pruitt, 39, dies at VA Hospital

Funeral services for Tony L. Pruitt, 39, of Route 1 Commiskey, were conducted by the Rev. Charles Lockwood and the Rev. Wendell Leach at 2 p.m. Tuesday athe the Vail-Holt Funeral Home in Madison. Burial was at the Dupont Cemetary.

Mr Pruitt died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday at the the VA Medical Center, Marion.

Born May 6, 1952, in Jefferson County, he was the son of George Elbert Pruitt and Gladys Holcomb Pruitt Phillips. He was a former manger of Burger Chef and former employee of Williamson Heater Company, Madison & Arvin Industries of North Vernon. An Army veteran, he was a member of the Baptist Church, Disabled Veterans id America and the Nation Guard.

Surviving with his mother & father are his strpfather, Morris Phillips, Commiskey, his stepmother, Joyce Pruitt, St. Petersburg, Fl. one sone, Tony Shannon Pruitt, Lexington, Ohio; one brother, Larry Richard Pruitt, Muncie; three half-brothers, Lowell E Phillips & Kelley Morris Phillips both of Commiskey; and Billy S Pruitt of Crawfordsville; one stepbrother, Larry Phillips, Commiskey; one stepsister Linda S Botkins, Versailles, Ky; and his grandfather Kelley Halcomb, Dupont.
