Dr. William L. Zink, an otolaryngologist at the Madison Clinic, died yesterday morning in Logansport. He was 33.

A native of Madison, he was a 1973 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School, a 1977 graduate of DePauw University and a 1981 graduate of the Indiana University Medical School.

In 1983, he completed two years of general surgery residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and then served a three-year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the Indiana University Medical Center.

Dr. Zink joined the Madison Clinic in July of 1986 for the practice of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, which included ear, nose and throat as well as facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He was was a staff member at King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was a board certified member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, Indiana State Medical Association, and the Jefferson-Switzerland County Medical Association. He resided at 618 W. Main St.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Wells Zink; two sons: John William Zink and Robert Riley Zink, both at home, one stepson, Daniel Wells, at home; his parents; Dr. and Mrs. Robert O. Zink, Madison; one sister, Lee Ann White, Madison; one brother, R.D. Zink, Carmel; several aunts and uncles; and two nieces.

Services will be at 10:30am Wednesday at the Vail-Holt Funeral Home Madison Chapel. Graveside services will be at 4pm Wednesday at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 8 pm Tuesday and from 9am until time of service Wednesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kind's Daughters' Hospital, the American Cancer Society, or to the donor's favority charity.
