Linda Sue Downey Utley, 83, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY.

She was born on February 27, 1941, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Modest Boze Downey and Clyde Downey. She was formerly employed at Kroger and worked in the deli for twenty-five years. She loved working crossword puzzles and watching tv. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Linda Sue was of the Baptist faith. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Downey; and sister, Kaye Lee.

Survivors include her son, Jim Utley of Madisonville; daughter, Cathy (Johnny) Babb of Madisonville; son, Craig (Karrie) Utley of Clay, KY; sister, Carol (Bobby) Brackett of Mortons Gap, KY; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff McMain officiating. Burial to follow at Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Craig Utley, Jim Utley, Johnny Babb, Brandon Utley, Dakota Utley, and Jason Wiley. Honorary pallbearers are Olivia Utley and Molly Utley.
