Rupert Furgerson VIEW PROFILE

        Rupert Henry Furgerson II, 74, passed away Dec. 17, 2015, at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Rupert was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Hopkins County to the late Garland and Laura Belle Moore Furgerson. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Furgerson and two brothers, Garland Leslie Furgerson and Charles Nelson Furgerson.
Rupert, a member of the Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville, was a United States Navy Veteran, and a self employed real estate appraiser. He enjoyed genealogy and researching the Scottish descent of the Furgerson family and published a book on it; and, was a member of the Scottish Society. Rupert was past president of Clan Furgerson of North America, a lifetime member of the Hopkins County Historical Society and an active member in the Republican Party.
He is survived by one son, Joshua (Rachael) Furgerson of Louisville; three sisters, Mary Belle (Donnie) Howell of Madisonville, Barbara (Malcolm) Cheek of Madisonville and Martha D. (Danny) Davis of Providence, and three grandchildren: Alexander Furgerson, Madeline Furgerson and Samuel Furgerson all of Louisville.
Funeral services was Dec. 22, 2015, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Morrison officiating with burial in Grapevine Cemetery. Military honors was conducted by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.
