On Nov. 27, 1941, John Frey was born in Moncks Corner, S.C., to Helen C. Frey and Edgar Mitchell Frey. John passed away in Madisonville on Tuesday, July 3, 2000; he was just 58. Memorial donations were made to the American Heart Association.
At the time of his death, his dad was already deceased. Survivors were: Helen his mother, two sisters Linda Hall, Louisville, Carmen Della Frey of Franklin, Ky, and his three children...no names. Also, he had three nephews.
John mined for Peabody Coal Co., was a retired, self-employed truck driver. Having served in the U.S. Army in wartime; and, meeting that qualification, allowed him to belong to the American Legion Post #6 in Madisonville.
John was a member of the Greater Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Madisonville.
Bro. Ronnie Hendricks of the Lighthouse, officiated his funeral at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. American Legion Post #6 conducted a military funeral at the grave site where his body was laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens on McCleod Lane.
Having died on 3 July, just before July 4, John was buried on Saturday, 8 July 2000.
