Obituary

Alice Ezell Arnold, 82, of Madisonville, KY, went to her heavenly home after a long battle with Alzheimers on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

She was born on May 26, 1942, in Winchester, KY, to the late Anna V. Heltsley Ezell Jones and Charles Ezell. She worked at W.H. Arnold & Co. with her husband and his family. She was a devoted wife, caregiver to many, faithful church member, teacher/role model for her daughters encouraging them to be honest, hardworking, faith loving, forgiving and to set their standards high. She never stopped wanting to make things better for others. She enjoyed her devotional time, being involved in church activities, and traveling. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Alice was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Arnold; and her sisters, Anna Ruth Gamblin and Mary Kay Paynter.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicki Arnold Santos of Medina, OH and Susan (Tim) Talley of Plano, TX; stepdaughter, Belinda (Phil) Workman of Norman, OK; sister, Lynda (Johnny) Oldham of Ledbetter, KY; granddaughters, Hannah (Patrick) Stone of Haslet, TX, Jessica Santos of Chicago, IL, Holli Garetson of Norman, OK, and Heidi (Jason) Tucker of Brooksville, KY; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Bursztynski officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers are Dave Hendrix, Tony Space, Gary Oldham, Jon Salley, Larry Smith, and Patrick Stone.
