Monte Robinson

Monte Ray Robinson, 75 of Madisonville, KY died on October 25, 2017 at Baptist Health in Madisonville. 
He was born on January 22, 1942, in Harrisburg, IL to the late E.L. and Ray Prather Robinson.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville where he was worship chairmen for many years and served on various boards and committees.
In the past, Monte had been President of Madisonville Jaycees, Retail Merchants Parade Marshall of the Christmas Parade for 30 years, and President for three terms of Madisonville Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He loved UK sports, and the LA Dodgers. He was a local businessman for 45 years before retiring from Madisonville Tire and Retreading in 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald E. Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Maddy Robinson; two sons, David Robinson, and Dan (Lana) Robinson all of Madisonville; one daughter, Amy Robinson (Shane) Cranfill of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Nick Cranfill and Ellie Cranfill of Louisville, and Evan Robinson of Madisonville.
Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Barnett-Strother Funeral home with Rev. Dale Carden officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shane Cranfill, Glenn Norton, John Norton, Jeremy Dotson, Terry Fuller, and David Jordan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the American Lung Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
