Janet without a doubt is one of the most energetic, outgoing people I have ever known. Jaimie and I spent 2 weeks in Europe with Phil and Janet in May...within 2 days on the boat she knew virtually everyone aboard (140) by name and in many cases a little bit about them. Jaimei and I were blesssed to have that experience as a current remembrance of a very special person.
Her passing is a constant reminder to us all of how precious life is and how important it is enjoy every minute as if it may be your last...get off the couch and make every day count...that is how Janet lived her life and how all of us should live ours......
When I first met Janet in junior high, it was obvious to me and to all who met her that she was a very special person. Her exhuberance for life, her always smiling face, and her friendship will always be remembered. She was the first person I knew with diabetes and I can remember at slumber parties we always had to make sure we had orange juice and a candy bar...'just in case". In spite of the fact that we knew this, Janet never made it a big deal and it was easy for those who knew her to forget her illness.
Just reading her obituary makes me wish I could have spent more time with her as an adult. What a lovely tribute to an amazing person. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family and friends. I know the memories they cherish will see them through some lonely times ahead.
When I read Janet's obituary it was clear to me that she was someone with a rich, full, joyful life right up to the end. What a shining example of a life well lived. What a powerful example for us all. Job well done, my friend. Well done indeed. Rest in peace.
It was with heavy heart that I recieved the news of Janet's passing. She was one of the nicest and sweetest people that a person could every know. I am glad that I was able to take a couple of momentos from the reunion that she had hand crafted.
Just like our classmates who had gone before her, she will be greatly missed.
I remember Janet back in the Hall Street Elementary days, we both grew up on Hall Street. Janet was an extremely likeable person even back in the younger days. She always fit in with anything, was always lively and ever so friendly. We all thought she was so cute, even though we were too young to know what to do about it. Remember the early summers on Hall Street playing between our house and Kesterson's grocery, which meant that we were always going by her house. During high school, you always knew that Janet was available to provide a kind word, don't think I ever heard anything bad about someone come out of her mouth, such a positive person. I will always remember Janet with warm and kind thoughts. Humanity, as well as the many friends, both old and new, will certainly miss her smile.
