Lt. Col. Max A. Galeai,42,  of Pago Pago, American Samoa, was killed in a suicide bomb attack in the town of Karmah in Anbar province. Galeai was commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines at Marine Corp Base Hawai'i. He was a 1988 graduate of Oregon State University and joined the Marines following college. He was stationed in Hawai'i in 2007.
