I only learned today via Charlie Nardo that Gerry passed away in March 2012. I had hoped to have seen him at the reunion. After high school, Gerry and I attended and graduated from Hofstra University. We then lost touch except for the fact that I knew he was in the US Army Military Police in Germany (what a surprise, as his dad was the Lynbrook Police Chief). About four or five years ago I became curious about Gerry and located him in Cummings, GA. We spoke on the phone but never got to get together. I kidded him that over the years, he had developed a very strong southern accent. Gerry and I sought of gravitated together with my dad being Mayor of Malverne and his the Lynbrook Police Chief. That didn't keep us from doing some crazy things.

I spoke with Janet Pirillo (his next door neighbor) about Gerry at the reunion and she was not aware he had passed at that time. Gerry was an even-tempered, mild-mannered gentlemen, even at 18. I am sorry that I didn't make a point of arranging to meet with him.
