NEWMAN, Charles David, age 53, of Hillsboro Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the St. Thomas Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He had worked with Carrier Air Conditioning, Inc. In Morrison for 31 years and recently graduated from the Machinist Certification Program at Tennessee Technological Center in Shelbyville, TN.   He was born on May 21, 1955 in Franklin County, Tennessee to his parents, the late Charles Harris Newman and Vera Jane Bennett Newman. Charles enjoyed farming and gardening and was a member of the Hickerson Station Church of Christ where he served as a Song Leader and Teacher. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia "Patsy'' Mines Newman of the Calls Community in Hillsboro, TN; two sons, David Alex Newman and Nathaniel Drew Newman, both of Calls Community in Hillsboro, TN; sister, Patsy Newman Little (Allen) of the Calls Community in Hillsboro, TN; brother, Michael A. Newman (Linda) of Estill Springs, TN; many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The Family received friends at the Visitation on Monday, July 21, 2008 from 5 - 8:00 P.M. The Funeral service was conducted on Tuesday afternoon, July 22, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Tom Watson and Brother Mike Ray officiating. Burial followed at the New Brick Church of Christ Church Cemetery in Franklin County, TN. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to either The Local Multi-County Cancer Support Network or The Charles Newman Memorial Scholarship Fund at The Tennessee Technological Center in Shelbyville, TN.
