My first car was a BROWN 73 Ford Maverick...aka "Brownie". We would peel the vinyl top and sometimes the horn would go off with no rhyme or reason. I drove it to MHS (illegally) my sophomore year and most of Jr. Year. Brownie finally died and so I finished with a 78 Buick LeSabre (sp?) named "BERTHA". I inherited it from my grandfather after he accidentally drove it into a house. They fixed Bertha up and gave her to me. She had baby blue velour interior and was a very cushy ride. Everyone loved Bertha. We could fit 8 people comfortably, a keg in the trunk, and she was indestructible. When I pulled out in front of someone on Hwy 12 and he t-boned me going about 55mph, it crushed the drivers door, but I was fine. We even had a song for Bertha....
