Joseph Nuzzolillo and another young man from Mandeville died tragically in a single-car accident in Covington in 1996 or 1997. Joey was currently attending SLU (Southeastern Louisiana University). He was also currently serving as an enlisted member of the Army National Guard for the state of Louisiana. He was given a military funeral in New Orleans.
Joey was a very creative person, his hobbies included car detailing and animation. He was also very much into music.
One of his projects was a beetle bug painted bright orange. It had huge tires and a very loud sound system. It definitely got some second looks traveling around the streets of Mandeville.
I remember that Joseph sat behind me in 7th grade and would tickle me. He was a soul that had a great laugh and joy for life. He will be missed. God bless
