I remember hearing the news of Bobby Guse's death in a motorcycle accident somewhere up north. I think I remember it involved a logging truck. I think that because whenever I see large timbers and any kind of logging operations I think of him...which is really strange because I don't remember seeing or talking with Bobby since elementary school. We must have moved in different circles.

I nevertheless remember Bobby as a funny kid. I remember being in a two-person play with him in 2nd grade, "The Lion and the Mouse." He was the mouse, I was the lion. I think I had a thorn in my paw. Something like that.

I also remember Bobby expanding my vocubulary when in fifth grade he was reprimanded for his liberal use of the word "geek." His punishment was to give a report on the word "geek," in which he enlightened the class about the breed of circus performers who bite off the heads of chickens. Whenever I hear the word "geek," I think of Bobby Guse, not because he was one, but because of his report on the etymology of the word.

I obviously didn't know Bobby very well, but all through school I remembered our pairing in "The Lion and the Mouse." That was the extent of our kinship, but because of it, I remember vividly learning of his death, and I'm sad that he's no longer with us.

I remember meeting Bob in 7th grade at Washington Jr High, and knew it was going to be a fun ride! He always knew how to crack people up with his sense of humor!

Bob sure did like his motorcycles, and, snowmobiles, and anything to do with the outdoors. So sad that he had to be taken from us so early on something he enjoyed so much in life.

When I heard the news of Bobs passing I was in total shock! Bobs mother and my mother were both on the same dartball league, and his moms call to my mom was just to much to comprehend,he was only 18 or 19. He never got to truly enjoy life after High school. It made me more aware of everything going on around me,and, that life as we know it, could be cut short at anytime.

I stop at the cemetery every so often when in town and see his headstone, his mother and father truly do miss him by the great monument they erected for him.

Bob you are missed!!!

As Kevin and Todd have stated, Bob was a very funny guy! He could crack a joke without ever changing his expression! Hillarious!
One of my best memories of Bob, I believe during our Senior year, is standing by the "smokers circle" ( south end of school) and suddenly seeing a large plume of smoke rising above the old shops building (Green Street),Upon investigating it further, There was Bob in I believe was an old Plymouth Duster, literally burning the tires off his car! You could barely see the car there was so much smoke! He enjoyed doing that so much, that he always kept a few spares in the trunk just in case.
I really wish he were still around........ The world truly needs his sense of humor. Miss ya BOB !!
