Matt Larson

Matthew Allen Larson, 20, St. Paul, drowned Sunday, August 26, 1990, while swimming in the Termperance River in Cook County. 
Matt was born in Edina, June 30, 1970, to Robert and Anne (Johnson) Larson.  They lived in Belle Plaine, moving to Mankato about 1983.  Matt graduated in 1989 from Mankato West High School, where he had been active in theater productions, and was a member of the 1989 Academic Decathalon team, which placed fourth in national competition in Providence, R.I.  He was active with his youth group at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  He moved to Edina with his mother after graduation, and had attended the University of Minnesota at Duluth.  He was to have attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis [that] fall. 
 
Matt is survived by his mother, Anne Larson; his father Robert Larson and his wife Janet; a sister, Amy; step-brothers Tim, Pat, Mike and Terry Manning; special friend Leanne Corcoran; grandparents Norman and Joyce Johnson and Hans and Mabel Larson.
 
Burial was in Belle Plaine.
