Jack died unexpectedly at home in Roseville, MN on Monday, November 27, 2017. He is survived by his wife and partner of forty years, Nancy Pleiss Brooks, and sons Kevin, age 23, and Jason, age 20. His memory is cherished by his parents, Harvey and Alvera "Pete" Brooks; his siblings, Randy, Terry, Frank, Rick (Paula), Tom (Becky), and Joe (Karen); father-in-law, Ernie Pleiss, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Jenny Wagner, and Connie (Mark-er) Lere; brothers-in-law, Patrick (Charlene) Pleiss, J.R. Pleiss, and Mike (Emily) Pleiss; and many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Charlotte Pleiss in 2008.
Born in Mankato, MN, Jack graduated from Mankato East High School where he is still a member of the athletic hall of fame and holds a standing track and field record. He is also a member of the MSU-Mankato Track Hall of Fame. Jack was very involved with Boy Scout Troop 9031 of Roseville American Legion, spending countless hours helping out and seeing both sons to Eagle Scout. Jack also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, including the "annual ice-fishing trip", and golfing. Jack drew many laughs with his quick wit and sense of humor. He was a man of great character who always put his family first and was always available to help others in need.
Mass of Christian Burial 2:30 PM Friday, December 1 at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, 380 E. Little Canada Rd, Little Canada. Visitation will be held at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. @ Cty Rd B, from 5-9 PM Thursday 11/30, and at the church from 1:30-2:30 PM Friday.
