Michael "Ed" Spoors was born on October 26, 1955 in Mankato Minnesota to Harold and Cleone (Forrey) Spoors. Mike passed away peacefully at Alaska Regional Hospital on Monday, December 3, 2018 from cancer.
Mike grew up in Mankato and graduated from Mankato East High School in 1974. He worked in Mankato for a short period of time and then moved to Breckenridge Colorado. He then moved to Alaska where he spent the rest of his life.
When he moved to Alaska he acquired the nickname of Ed or Eddie. All of his friends in Seward and Wasilla/Palmer knew him by that name.
Mike loved the outdoors, loved to fish, loved to cook and loved his dogs Jazz and Sasha.
His is survived by his sisters Susan (Buzz) Cashin of Montgomery, MN and Nancy Reid of Eagle Lake, MN, his brother Steven (Linda) of Willmar, MN and several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father and his brother-in-law John Reid.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. He requested to be cremated and the ashes spread at Resurrection Bay in Seward, AK.
