Obituary

Gary Taylor Watson, 62, of Mansfield, died on August 17, 2021.

Gary was a mostly gentle man and a mischievous rascal when he wasn’t. A life long Mansfielder, he graduated from Madison High School in 1978, worked at Sarca for a good part of his life. He was loved by his family especially his late mother and wife.

Gary married “his best love of his life”, Luann, on May 8, 1993.  They were married for 28 years.  He loved music and played the tenor sax in school.  Gary served in the U.S. Navy, August 31, 1979, during the Carter years.  He was honorably discharged August 30, 1985, after serving on the USS John F. Kennedy. 

Along with his wife, Luann, he is survived by his son, Derrick Watson of Mansfield; step-father, Ralph Badgley; sister, Kelly (Lee) Shull of Mansfield; granddaughters, Cassidy Rose, Lily Marie, and Donna Taylor of Texas; nieces, Kari Gonzales, Katie (Nick) Cox, and Alexxis Shull; along with great-neices.

Along with his mother, Donna, Gary was preceded in death by his father, Terry; and sister, Kimberly Wimer.

           Calling hours will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve, Rittman, Ohio.
