Dear Bonnie,
It was good to hear from one of Peggy's classmate. It was saddening because Peggy always wanted to get to one of the school reunions and we never nade it to one. Here are something about Peggy since she left hight school.
She worked differant jobs befor going to work at Lazarus department store at the mall in Ontario. She worked there until just befor we got married in June 3,1973 (two days after her birthday).
We did'nt get the chance to have a honeymoon because I was called from leave because of a trial, I was a military policeman in the Marine Corps. We lived the next sixteen monsths in Jacksonville,NC.
Upon leaving the service we moved to Greensboro,NC, where I was a police officer for twelve years. Peggy after a difficult pregancy, gave nirth to our daughter,Andrea Lynn on December 3,1976.After Andrea started schooling Peggy worked part-time as a retail clerk and later for a house cleaning service. Peggy evenuallywent out on her own for several years had a small group of clients.
In October 2004 while being treated for bronchitis it was dicovered Peggy had terminal cancer.Afterseveral months and several consultations a six months regimen of chemotherapy treatments gave negative results in fighting the cancer,Peggy decided to abstain from any further treatments. In October 2006. Peggy suffered a slight stoke that led to her being mostly bed-ridden until December 18,2006. She passed away at two oclock in the afternoon. It was a Monday ,exactly one week befor Christmas.
I want to thankyou for thinking of Peggy on the Mansfield Senior Class of 1968 site. She was a loving mother and devoted wife who we miss greatly.
Sincerely.
William Mackey
