In Memory

Greg Lock

Sweet, kind and gentle soul was Ruthlessly murdered in San DIego by convicts who needed a ride. He was held at gunpoint and mercilessly murdered for his wallet and his car as he gave them a ride in exchange for helping with his car. He was serving in the Navy aboard the USS Bainbridge in San Diego in 1981.

This article was provided by Holly Nelson Purcell. She writes,

"I saw the '78 posting about our classmates who have passed.

Greg Lock (who I knew only a little bit) lived across the street from the house we eventually bought on Yale, 20 years ago. His parents, Bill & Gisela Lock, have been tremendous out-of-this-world neighbors... and every day they miss Greg, who died such a senseless death. So, to help complete some data and to help honor his memory, Greg passed in 1981."

ellteI first met Greg the summer before our senior year. He was hitching on Wooster Pike.(Hitchhiking was fairly common in those days) I can't even remember where he wanted to go. I do remember that my first impresion of him while he was in my car was that of a carefree guy, with a smile that went ear to ear. We struck an immediate friendship that lasted till after our senior year. We had some great times, and I don't type fast enough to begin put them on this website. But if anyone wants to ask or talk to me about Greg, just let me know, and I will share all of my memories that I have of Greg, and tell of the crazy, crazy, crazy times that we had!
