Ted Dobbin

April 17, 1944 - January 29, 2025

Ted E. Dobbin, age 80, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at his home. He was born April 17, 1944, in Marietta, son of the late Harry A. and LaVerna M. Carter Dobbin. Ted was a 1962 graduate of Marietta High School and was a United States Air Force veteran, having served four years in Vietnam. He was employed by Permian Oil and Gas for eight years and retired from the State of Ohio Department of Natural Resources as an oil and gas well inspector. He was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church, the Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM, the Valley of Cambridge, AASR, 32nd degree Mason, Marietta Council, Beverly Chapter, and Marietta Commandery, and he was a life member of the DAV in Marietta and the VFW in Caldwell.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Dobbin; an infant sister; and his beloved dog, Cooper.

Surviving are his daughter, Amy E. (John) Cleland of Lexington, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jillian Cleland of Youngstown and Emily Cleland of Columbus; and his longtime companion and her family, Phyllis S. Mincks of Macksburg, Eric, Ronnie (Kalib), Rodney (Chasity) and Jamie (Kelly).

Friends may call Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM with Ken Perkins officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Good Hope Cemetery near Lowell. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice
