Sad news of another classmate's passing

John A. Reichardt

December 9, 1944 - January 25, 2025

John A Reichardt, 80, of Marietta gained his wings on Sunday January, 26,2025 at 8:59 AM at his home surrounded by family after a long and hard fought 25 year battle with heart disease. John was born December 9,1944 in Mesa, AZ to the late Harry D. Reichardt and Evelyn Lucille Nicholas Reichardt. John is survived by his wife and best friend of 53 years Susan A. (Shanks) Reichardt, also surviving are his daughter Sarah A. Reichardt Harmon, her husband Brian and their son Caleb all of Marietta,  his son Adam J Reichardt and his wife Jennifer (Gerdes) Reichardt and their sons Jacob, Trace and Cody all of Odessa Texas. Also surviving are his sisters Shirley Reichardt Haines and her husband Robert of Biglerville PA and his sister Janet Reichardt Gliem also of Biglerville PA, and a sister-in-law Sandra Shanks Sarver of Coolville OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers-in-law Walter Gliem, Gordon Sarver and Timothy Shanks and an infant granddaughter Chloe Harmon.

John graduated from Marietta High School in 1962. He was a life member of the Lowell Masonic Lodge #436 F. & A.M., and had been affiliated with Boy Scouts of America and Troop #207 for many years. He was a proud Army Reserve Veteran. He raised quarter horses in his younger years and enjoyed horse shows. John enjoyed fishing and hunting when he had spare time. He retired in 1994 after a 30-year career at Ameritech (Ohio Bell Systems). John touched many lives and will be missed deeply by his family and those who knew him.

There will be a celebration of his life 4 PM on February 16,2025 at the American Legion Post # 64 in Marietta. Please join us to celebrate his life.
