Gilbert Lynn Johnson passed away Feb. 15, 2020, at Aldersgate, where he had gone for physical rehab. He was 72 when he passed.

Gilbert was the first born of Lester Johnson and Nellie Rachel Whitford on Feb. 24, 1947. He graduated from Marion High School in 1965. Then he went on to attend Emporia State College for three years. He then went to work at Hesston Corp., which later became AGCO, from which he retired with years of service. He played football in high school and college.

He is survived by two sisters, Ruth Billings and Minnie Liggett, as well as many nieces and nephews, several cousins and friends he’s made in his lifetime.

He was a collector of several things like hats, movies, books, puzzles and several other things. He really enjoyed reading books and spending time with his family and friends.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 17 at Burlingame Cemetery in Burlingame. Please dress casual, and if you want, wear your favorite team shirt, as he liked his sports.
